In the last two years, design in healthcare has become an increasingly important topic. Giants like Amazon, Facebook, Apple and Google are acquiring smaller companies for their technology and specialty in healthcare and are in the race to deliver successful health products. Improving the user experience in this industry is crucial not only for the patient but also for clinicians as it hasn’t changed in decades. However, in order to make that shift a lot has to be taken into consideration: for example, designers first need to discover what and where the real need is, regulatory compliance should be factored in, not to mention the implementation of usability standards for accessibility and much more! On top of all that, most designers in a product company follow the agile methodology and in the healthcare industry it makes it all more tricky.
